The idiocy and narcissism of these people is end and shocking. Sarah’s husband Mark says they are happy “knowing that we are doing our bit to save our precious planet.” Toni aborted her first child because the thought of bringing another burdensome human into the world made her “shudder with horror,” and rejoiced when she was finally able to find a “forward-thinking” doctor who would destroy her fertility at the age of 27. Toni declares. “I didn’t desire having a termination but it would’ve been immoral to give birth to a child that I felt strongly would only be a burden to the world.” And in case you were worried that Toni’s great sacrifice caused any unpleasantness for her don’t. She reflects that she has “never felt a twinge of guilt” and has “honestly never wondered what might have been.” Well that makes it all okay. I guess—as long as you don’t feel guilty you haven’t done anything wrong!
How long can a civilization survive when its members view children as burdensome repulsive parasites? My guess is not long. I have to say. I’m not terribly bothered by the choice of these stupid women and their pantywaist husbands to eliminate themselves from the gene pool. But it does disturb me to see potential mothers proudly—with ear-to-ear grins and fathomless self-indulgence—speak of human life as a plague to be eliminated. Because no be how they phrase it that is what they are saying. A question to Toni. Sarah and anyone who shares their views: if the planet can only be saved by getting rid of humans, shouldn’t you kill yourselves? Isn’t that the next logical step the most responsible thing to do? After all you consume far more precious resources than a little baby.
Seriously. The beat way for these couples to thorougly eliminate their “carbon footprint” would be to commit suicide. That way all the water and air and food they waste with their existence would be returned to the Earth right? And hey why not take it a step further: set a quota for “sustainable” population growth, and euthanize all newborns born after the quota is reached? If the planet is truly in peril and human life has less value than a hypothetical utopia wherein humans leave no trace of their existence then why not get right to the source of the problem and alter.
